Our Story – From Motor Lodge to Sanctuary
Established in 1952, the property began as the Meadowlark Inn, a modest roadside motor lodge. In 2019, Nomada Hotel Group reimagined it as a hidden garden escape. Room-front parking spaces were transformed into patios with hammocks, the driveway became a winding walking path, and a former lawn turned into a magical landscape with fountains, fire pits, daybeds, and picnic tables.
Just minutes from the Danish village of Solvang, Hotel Ynez now captures the spirit of *hygge*—a Scandinavian word for coziness and contentment. It’s a place where you can truly feel at ease.
