Located in the heart of Santa Ynez, our restaurant is owned and operated by Joy Reinhardt, a talented chef with a deep passion for food and community. Joy’s journey began in San Francisco and led her around the world with the U.S. Army, where she was stationed in Germany and Belgium. Along the way, she earned her business degree and developed a love for volunteering, teaching families to cook real meals instead of relying on boxed foods.
Joy’s career spans decades and includes owning multiple restaurants, wine stores, and a catering business that catered high-profile events like the U.S. Airforce Memorial Opening and a cocktail reception for President Obama. After relocating to Santa Ynez, Joy found her true calling in the culinary world, bringing her diverse, travel-inspired menu to life at Ellie’s Tap and Vine.
Named in honor of her mother, Ellie, who passed away suddenly in 2018, this restaurant is a tribute to the love and kindness Ellie spread during her life. Joy designed every detail of the restaurant with heart, choosing wines and beers that reflect the things Ellie cherished most. The menu changes daily, offering a fresh, exciting mix of flavors influenced by cultures from around the world.
