The Hitching Post 2 Celebrates 40 Years with Anniversary Dinners and New “Cuarenta” Pinot Noir
The Hitching Post 2 is celebrating 40 years of legendary Santa Ynez Valley hospitality with special anniversary dinners, limited-edition wine, and a tribute to the loyal guests and team members who helped shape its legacy.
Available through June 30, 2026, the beloved Buellton restaurant invites guests to enjoy a special three-course, $40 prix fixe menu featuring Hitching Post favorites paired with a commemorative wine release: “Cuarenta,” a limited-production 2020 Pinot Noir from Quinta del Mar Vineyard.
Created by Owner Frank Ostini and winemaker Gray Hartley, “Cuarenta” — Spanish for “forty” — honors four decades of Hitching Post Wines. The small-lot Pinot Noir offers bright red fruit flavors layered with earthy spice and was crafted to pair perfectly with the restaurant’s signature live oak-grilled cuisine. Only 20 cases were produced.
Guests can also enjoy three anniversary dinner specials created by Owner Frank Ostini and Executive Chef Jesus Montano. Each $40 dinner includes an organic mixed-green salad, choice of side dish, dessert, and one of the following entrées grilled over the restaurant’s iconic live oak fire:
- 7-ounce top sirloin
- 7-ounce pork chop
- 10-ounce chicken breast
Sides include a baked potato with fixings, triple-fried French fries, or rice pilaf. Dessert features McConnell’s ice cream.
The anniversary wine is available at the restaurant for $38 per bottle. Guests may also purchase the exclusive tasting room package for $40, which includes two commemorative anniversary wine glasses.
“Forty years is a remarkable achievement for both a winery and a restaurant,” said Frank Ostini. “We could never have done it without the many Latino teammates who have loyally worked alongside us.”
Reservations are available through OpenTable. Anniversary wine packages are limited and sold exclusively at the Hitching Post Wines Tasting Room.
