Amber’s Story
Born and raised in Santa Barbara County, Amber’s roots run deep in the fertile soils of this remarkable region. Her childhood was filled with days on the beaches of Santa Barbara and exploring the rivers of the Santa Ynez Valley, where her love for plants and nature began.
Amber’s passion for wine began with a single unforgettable sip: a Ken Brown 2007 Clos Pepe Pinot Noir. That experience changed her life. Inspired, she pursued viticulture and enology at Allan Hancock College and gained hands-on experience working at several wineries, including ten harvests alongside Ken Brown himself. In 2018, Amber launched her own label, starting with Pinot Noir — not only her favorite but one of the most challenging grapes to master.
A Deep Connection to the Land
Amber believes the vineyard speaks for itself. She carefully selects and contracts vineyards she can personally manage, ensuring the highest level of care and authenticity. Her vineyards capture the diversity of Santa Barbara County — from the sun-soaked Sauvignon Blanc blocks to the cooler climates perfect for her beloved Pinot Noir.
“I get to play with plants, make wine, and create art,” Amber says. “It’s all about balance. Wines are like children—the evolution of them is the most beautiful part of the journey.”
