Ron and Nancy’s roots run deep in Santa Barbara County, with a history of grape growing that began long before the Sta. Rita Hills AVA was even established. Inspired by family, friends, and winemakers, they planted their first vineyard within sight of the iconic Sanford & Benedict vineyard. This passion led them to create something truly special—a vineyard and winery that celebrates the art of winemaking.
Their journey led to the founding of Mt. Carmel Vineyard, where they partnered with Carmelite nuns to cultivate some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California. Today, Piazza Family Wines continues this legacy at Piazza Bella Vista Vineyard, nestled in the stunning Ballard Canyon countryside, just five miles from downtown Solvang.
