Where Art and Connection Come Together
The Giving Ink is more than a shop — it’s a love letter to creativity, connection, and the joy of the handwritten word. Every card, print, and brushstroke reflects artistMichelle Juliet Feldman’s passion for bringing people together through writing and art.
Michelle dreamed of creating a place where inspiration could bloom. A place to browse beautiful stationery, watch art being made, and maybe even spark a meaningful conversation. Inspired byold-world libraries and European salons, where people once gathered to share ideas and stories, The Giving Ink is her modern take on that tradition — a smaller space with a big vision forcommunity and creativity.
Inside, you’ll find curated stationery and art supplies, original watercolor and oil works, fine art prints, and thoughtful gifts for artists, writers, and dreamers alike. Every corner feels personal — a mix of vintage charm, creative energy, and quiet reflection.
About Michelle Juliet Feldman
Michelle is an artist, designer, and lifelong paper lover who calls theSanta Ynez Valley home. After three decades in design and business, she returned to fine art in her fifties — bringing with her a wealth of life experience, deep gratitude, and a renewed curiosity for the creative process.
Her artistic journey began atUCLA, where she earned herBA in Design and fell in love with paper, ink, and composition. That passion led her to open two beloved stationery stores filled with her original watercolors, custom maps, and handcrafted paper goods. Over time, her work evolved from illustration to oil painting and printmaking — always guided by the same sense of wonder and detail that first drew her to the art of the written and painted word.
Today, Michelle’s paintings blendclassical realism with her signature use of texture and light. Working primarily inoil on panel, she often incorporatesdelicate rice paper anddry point engraving techniques, creating layered works that explore memory, meaning, and the beauty of imperfection. Each piece feels timeless, tactile, and quietly emotional.
She continues to study classical realism underMary Kay West with theCentral Coast Art League, always learning, always growing. As acartographer, she has produced hundreds of maps — each one a personal connection to time, place, and story.
When she’s not painting, you’ll find her in the studio with her loyal dogHoney or spending time with hertwin children, who inspire her every day.
A Place to Pause and Be Inspired
The Giving Ink invites visitors to slow down — to write a note, explore a painting, or simply enjoy the beauty of a well-crafted space. It’s a reminder that art doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. Sometimes, the most memorable creations come from small, intentional moments — a brush dipped in color, a letter sealed with care, a story shared between friends.
So come visit. Wander through the shelves. Watch Michelle at work. Feel the rhythm of creativity in this small but inspiring studio.
Every visit is a chance to reconnect — with art, with words, and with yourself.
