Los Olivos Tasting Room | Santa Ynez Estate
Nestled into the north face of the Santa Ynez Mountains, Refugio Ranch spans 415 acres of natural beauty, where rugged terrain meets refined winemaking. Originally a working cattle ranch, the Gleason family transformed this historic land in 2006, planting just 28 acres to vine in order to preserve the wild spirit of the valley. Today, our vineyard is meticulously farmed by hand, producing low yields and deeply concentrated fruit—crafted into expressive, estate-driven wines.
At the heart of our offerings is the 2021 Barbareño, a powerful blend of 92% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah, and 3% Grenache. It captivates with notes of blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, and violets, finishing with structured tannins and layered flavors of framboise, cigar box, plum, and black clay—a bold tribute to our mountain terroir.
Los Olivos Tasting Room
Step into local history at our Los Olivos tasting room, located in a building once tied to the Pacific Coast Railway, which brought passengers and cargo through the region from 1887 to 1934. Thought to be the site of the original ticket booth and fueling depot, our corner location on Grand Avenue now invites guests to slow down and savor a glass of wine where the past meets the present.
