Peake Ranch is more than a winery—it’s a passion project brought to life by a close-knit team of friends and experts.
John & Gillian Wagner
John grew up in Ventura County farming lemons and avocados. A physicist turned financier, he always dreamed of returning to the land. With a winemaking certificate from UC Davis and a love for Santa Barbara wine country, that dream came true. Gillian, originally from England, is a passionate philanthropist supporting causes for the unhoused in LA. Together, they built Peake Ranch—a place full of heart, vines, and hospitality.
Michael Anderson
Mike grew up in the vineyard life and never left it. A longtime educator and researcher at UC Davis, he managed the legendary Oakville Station. That’s where he met John—and years later, he joined the Peake Ranch team. Now, he shares his wisdom in the vineyard every day.
Eric Grant
A former finance pro from the East Coast, Eric joined Peake Ranch to lead marketing after moving west to be near family. He’s been learning the wine world fast—and loving every minute.
Maria Nikolantonaki
Maria brings global expertise to Peake Ranch as consulting enologist. Born in Crete and educated in Greece and Bordeaux, she brings serious wine chemistry know-how to the team.
Max Hara
Max started with a master’s in viticulture from UC Davis. After joining Peake Ranch to work with Mike in the vineyard, he fell in love with winemaking and is now our assistant winemaker.
We Give Back
Each year, Peake Ranch supports a cause close to our hearts. Our 2022 vintage celebrates the Independent Shakespeare Co., a bold LA-based theater group that inspires joy, connection, and creativity.
