Global Gardens – A Taste of Tradition & Innovation!
At Global Gardens, we believe great food tells a story. Founded in 1998 by Theodora “Theo” Stephan, we’ve been inspiring worldly flavors with our award-winning extra virgin olive oil and artisan food products ever since. Theo was the first to plant olives for extra virgin olive oil in Santa Barbara County, and by 1998, we celebrated our first harvest. Time flies when you’re having fun!
What started as a family passion quickly became a global adventure. Theo’s Nepalese daughters, Anita and Sunita, helped from a young age—placing stickers on bottles while watching cartoons on Saturday mornings. In 2006, we opened our first stand-alone shop in Los Olivos, bringing our handcrafted products straight to the community.
As times changed, so did we! When Los Olivos became a wine-tasting hotspot, we embraced a new adventure, launching the Caliterranean Café in Los Alamos. We served up seasonal, organic dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. European tourists loved it, and Theo’s teenage daughters got to work alongside their friends—a deliciously fun time for all!
In 2014, we returned home, launching the Global Gardens Farm Stand in Los Olivos. This little slice of heaven became Southern California’s most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil producer, expanding to over 40 hand-crafted food products, including vinegars, spice blends, mustards, sauces, and organic snacks. We even offer a line of health & beauty products, so popular they fly off the shelves!
Today, Global Gardens continues to bring bold flavors and fresh ideas to the Santa Ynez Valley and beyond. Stop by, taste the love, and take home something delicious!
