Welcome to Folded Hills – Where Family, Farming & Fine Wine Come Together
My father always said, “Making friends is our business.” In 1954, he opened our ancestral home, Grant’s Farm, to the public, sharing not only the land but also our family’s love of hospitality. His legacy lives on today as we carry forward his passion for welcoming others.
Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara in 1998 when I served as Captain of the USA Polo Team at the World Cup. We knew this was where we wanted to raise our family—surrounded by the beauty of the California coast while embracing the hard work and joy of ranch life. That dream became Folded Hills, a place where we invite you to experience our wine, food, and way of life.
A Legacy in Every Bottle
Our wines honor our family’s history. The Lilly Rosé is named after my great-grandmother, Lilly Anheuser, born in 1844, and the tradition of the name continues to this day with our granddaughter, Lilly. Our August blends pay tribute to two strong men—my father, Gussie, and his father, August Sr. Even our tribute wine, “21,” marks a special family milestone.
Rooted in Farming
Growing up in St. Louis, I cared for everything from elephants and bison to the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales at Grant’s Farm. Today, Folded Hills is home to our own “farmily” of animals, including sheep in the vineyards, donkeys, mini horses, a camel named George, and a zebra named Zazu.
Committed to Quality
We believe in organic, sustainable farming. Our handcrafted Rhône varietals—Grenache, Syrah, and Rhône whites—grow alongside organic crops and orchards. Every bottle captures the sun, fog, and ocean breezes that grace these folded hills.
Now, we invite YOU to experience Folded Hills—where family, tradition, and friendship come first!
