Our vineyard is a tale of two landscapes. The riverside blocks, nestled along the Santa Ynez River, offer shelter from the wind and rest on sandy loam soil with deep gravel deposits. Meanwhile, the hillside blocks are exposed to ocean breezes, rooted in marine shale with plenty of clay, rocks, and cobbles. It’s a tough growing environment, but the reward? Grapes with exceptional character and complexity.
Inspired by the legendary wines of Burgundy and the Northern Rhône, we craft wines that showcase the magic of our land. Our cool-climate grapes ripen slowly, developing deep, complex flavors while holding onto their bright, natural acidity. You might even catch a hint of salinity, a little gift from the nearby sea!
