A Family Dream in Every Glass
It all began in 2005 when John Zahoudanis set out to find the perfect vineyard. Raised on a farm near Mount Olympus, his childhood was filled with olives, citrus trees, and homegrown grapes. Wine wasn’t just a beverage — it was a way of life.
When John and his wife Sandra discovered this breathtaking estate in Santa Barbara County, they knew they’d found something special. They named it Demetria, after their daughter — and the Greek goddess of harvest, Demeter.
Naturally Made, Estate Grown
We farm biodynamically, letting nature lead the way. Most of our grapes come straight from our own 213-acre estate. With 45 acres planted to Rhône varietals — five reds and five whites — we craft vibrant, expressive wines that reflect the land. We also produce small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Burgundian style, using organic grapes from trusted coastal growers.

A Family Affair
We’re still family-owned and operated. John and Sandra’s son, Alexis, lives and works on the property. He partners with vineyard manager and winemaker Ryan Roark to bring Demetria’s vision to life.
