Welcome to Coquelicot Estate Vineyard – where nature leads and great wine follows.
Our vineyard and winery are both CCOF Certified Organic, meaning we craft wines without harsh chemicals. Just the good stuff. Our approach? Minimalist, biodynamic, and totally in sync with the land. We let the grape shine and the vintage speak for itself.
Our white wines are crisp and refreshing. Our reds? Soft, smooth, and full of character. We keep sulfites super low—only enough to keep things fresh. Sometimes, we skip them entirely! And for aging? Only French oak, mostly neutral barrels, so nothing overshadows the wine’s natural beauty.
Planted in 1997, our 94-acre vineyard sits in the heart of the Los Olivos District AVA, stretching from Ballard Canyon to Happy Canyon. Just south of Mission Santa Inés and near Solvang, our vines soak up sunshine and cool coastal breezes from the only east-west mountain ranges along the Pacific Coast. The result? A long, temperate growing season and incredible wines.
Our Ballard gravelly fine sandy loam soil may be low in nutrients, but it makes the vines work harder—digging deep and producing grapes full of personality.
We went fully organic in 2015 after years of sustainable farming. No synthetic pesticides. No toxic sprays. Instead, we use natural tools like biodegradable mineral oils, cover crops, and beneficial bugs. We hand-weed. We let nature do its thing. Our vineyard is alive with balance, biodiversity, and purpose.
