Bien Nacido means well born — and that’s exactly what this vineyard is. Originally part of an 1837 land grant, the site is steeped in history. The 1857 adobe built by the Olivera family still watches over the vines today. In 1969, brothers Bob and Steve Miller saw something special in this land. By 1973, they planted 300 acres of grapes. Their dream? Create a vineyard recognized worldwide for excellence — and they did just that. Today, Bien Nacido is the most single-vineyard-designated site on Earth. Its stunning terroir and dedicated team create grapes and estate wines that win hearts — and awards — vintage after vintage. Just down the road sits Solomon Hills Vineyard, the coolest site in the Santa Maria Valley — literally.
