Old World Artisans Marketplace


Demonstrations and artisanal hand-crafted items including Scandinavian arts & crafts, woodworking, papercutting, rosemaling, fabric art, jewelry, pottery, and the ever-popular Danish Sisterhood Booth.

Solvang Danish Days LEGO Building Competition

10:00am – 12:30pm

Watch the conclusion of the building process as three of California’s top LEGO builders compete against each other with their own (downsized) takes on Solvang Danish Days Parade floats. Builders will be located throughout the village of Solvang. Judging of the builds begins at 1:00 PM, followed by a 2:30 PM winner announcement for the best build, which will occur during the Solvang Danish Days Closing Ceremony in Solvang Park.

Viking Encampment

The Ravens of Odin (Norse Educational Group) host a Viking Encampment in Solvang Park. Historical reenactments bring Viking times to life!

Living History Days

Young and old alike will enjoy listening to hours of tales from Denmark’s favorite author. Sunday readings: 11:00am at the Hans Christian Andersen Museum (at The Book Loft), 1:00pm at the Elverhøj Museum of History & Art.

Free Æbleskiver Eating Contest


Who can eat the most aebleskiver in 5 minutes?! Returning to this year’s Sunday Contest is competitive eater and eating challenge queen, Raina Huang. Sunday Contest will be held in the Midgaard Pavilion in Parking Lot 2, downtown Solvang, adjacent to the Danish Days Viking Beer & Wine Garden. All ages welcome for the Eating Contest.

Comedy Industries


Relax under the trees in Solvang Park, and laugh with Comedy Industries; Scott Meltzer and Katrine Spang-Hanssen feature amazing tricks, jokes and lively audience participation.

Children’s Parade


Parade begins at Atterdag Square (corner of Atterdag Road and Copenhagen Drive), and meanders down Copenhagen to Solvang Park. All children and families are welcome to join this charming event, no charge, costumes encouraged.

Danish Days Closing Ceremony in Solvang Park


Our 2023 Danish Days Maid closes the festive weekend. The vaudevillian antics of Comedy Industries to follow.

Danish Days boasts plentiful free entertainment during the weekend with three parades, Danish folk dancers and musicians performing in spots all over town, plus an afternoon and evening of free, live concerts on the Midgaard Pavilion Stage in the middle of downtown Solvang, adjacent to the Viking Beer & Wine Garden. Solvang Danish Days also aims to please the next generation of Danish Days fans with family-friendly pass-times, including a “Kid’s Korner” in Solvang Park featuring LEGO®.
