An Evening with Award-Winning Author Gary Robinson

Spend an evening exploring Native American history, storytelling, and culture at the Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center.

The museum’s free Second Thursday at the Museum lecture series welcomes award-winning author and filmmaker Gary Robinson on Thursday, September 10.

Robinson is the author of numerous books exploring Native American history and contemporary life. His work includes From Warriors to Soldiers, a history of American Indian military service, and The Language of Victory, which explores Native American code talkers during World War I and World War II.

He is also the creator of The PathFinders, a groundbreaking series of teen fiction featuring a contemporary Native American teen as its main character, as well as the historical Lands of Our Ancestors series.

Discover the Thunder Child Prophecy

During this special after-hours presentation, Robinson will discuss his latest and most ambitious project, the Thunder Child Prophecy trilogy.

The series follows Billy Buckhorn as he battles mysterious Underworld forces seeking to invade and rule the Middle World. The series has been described as a “Native American Harry Potter.”

Admission to this special evening is free, with no reservation required. Visitors can also enjoy complimentary access to the museum’s Permanent Exhibit, Temporary Exhibit, and Cultural Park.

For an enhanced experience, audio tours are available for $10 per person.
