Adult Art Workshop:

Animal Portrait Paper Mosaics

Get creative with paper, color, and personality at this hands-on art workshop led by artist Katherine Taylor of Poetry Frog. Join the California Nature Art Museum on Thursday, January 29, for a fun and welcoming morning of paper mosaics.

In this entry-level class, Katherine will guide participants step by step through planning and assembling a vibrant animal portrait using a variety of colorful and patterned papers. Bring a photo of an animal you love—like a favorite pet—or choose from provided examples. No prior experience is required, though experienced artists are always welcome.

Katherine Taylor is a celebrated muralist, illustrator, teacher, and author known for her joyful animal portraits and large-scale murals across California. Her work has appeared at Children’s Hospital of Orange, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, and many public spaces statewide. Her goal is simple: create art that sparks smiles and makes the world a little brighter.
