            Our wines

Hand made and limited production wines

In 2018 we started Rockets Red Wines to share amazing wines and highlight our time in the military while giving back to the veteran and local community.

Our winemaking style involves minimal intervention and just guiding the grapes on their path to wine. We experiment with native fermentation, letting nature work as intended.

            Dovecote Ranch and Estate Winery

Dovecote Ranch and Estate Winery is dedicated to growing and crafting wines that allow the beauty and character of our land to speak through them. Our 30-year old own-rooted vines and sandy-limestone soils produce small quantities of intensely concentrated cool-climate Rhône fruit. Local daily marine influence slows and extends ripening for uncommon complexity and grace.

            Dovecote Wines

Dovecote Wines are completely farmed and made by hand with a deep respect and love for their origin. They are meant as an ode to our family’s gratitude in calling this special place home. In their creation, it is our hope that our lives contribute to their meaning, and their meaning contribute to the lives of those we share them with.

Please join us and we’d be honored to share our wines with you.

We believe wine is a four-dimensional picture of place and time. Establishing a personal connection with its physical source creates a uniquely expanded sensory experience. At Dovecote we craft wine as a means of enhancing our relationship with the land from which it originates, and we take pride in sharing this special awareness with others.

            Taste at Mission Pond
Come experience Dovecote’s wines in their birthplace and immerse yourself in their origins and history. Visit Dovecote’s Mission Pond as our private guest. Pause, swirl, breathe deeply, and enjoy the gentle coastal air as you sip estate wines that share a common soul. Tastings are by appointment only: (805) 570-0443 or kristen@dovecote.com

            Hands On Honest Winemaking

In 2012 Will Henry and Lane Tanner ran into each other in the Santa Maria Valley, and realized that they shared a common vision: to make wines from the best cool-climate vineyards in Santa Barbara County, and to follow a regimen consistent with California’s early days of hands-on, honest winemaking in the Santa Ynez Valley.

            Memorable Wines

The duo asserts that the most balanced (and thus memorable) wines are made from fruit that is picked relatively early on the harvest calendar, the end result being a wine that is livelier on the palate, deeper in complexity, lower in alcohol, and more worthy of cellaring.

Bob’s Well Bread was started by an executive-turned-baker who was looking for some balance in his life, and found a passion and a new calling that was both delightful and unexpected. When you make something naturally, and with your hands, there’s a magic to it. If you’re eating a loaf of bread, or drinking a bottle of wine, and you know that someone has made it by hand, there’s just this personal connection. It may not change the way it tastes, but it changes your experience, and that’s what everyone wants – the experience.

Our artisan breads are made by hand, in small batches, in a custom-built, stone-deck oven. True artisan bread is made from the simplest of ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast. With a natural fermentation process, these most basic of ingredients become something that is fundamentally beyond their basic origins.

We hope you enjoy Bob’s Well Bread.

Skyview Los Alamos is a new hotel born from an original 1950’s motel overlooking the quaint town of Los Alamos. Set just off California’s iconic Highway 101, the boutique property features 33 rooms, including two spacious suites and 16 deluxe rooms with fireplaces and private decks overlooking the rolling hills of Santa Barbara wine country. The five-acre hilltop property includes a full-service restaurant, a small spa, a working vineyard, edible gardens and restored 1950’s era pool. The hotel’s original midcentury architecture was updated to a modern rustic aesthetic and softened with luxury trimmings: flat panel televisions, down duvets, leather club chairs and marble-clad bathrooms with organic small batch amenities. A full-service bar and restaurant serves local wines, herb-infused cocktails and farm-fresh fare with nods to the western roots of Los Alamos.
