Learn about woodblock carving and printing during a 3-hour workshop in the museum garden. The relief printing technique can be used to create unique textiles for wearables or home furnishings. Instruction will include how to carve your own design and use it to print onto cotton with textile ink, creating samples and a tea towel.
Artist/Teacher Sara Woodburn has been making woodcut prints since 2011 and has a studio in Santa Barbara. She studied textile printing at UC Davis, in New Mexico, Japan and the prestigious Anderson Ranch Art Center in Colorado.
