In celebration of Women’s History Month, dozens of Santa Barbara County’s women winemakers will gather at Casa Dumetz in Los Alamos to pour and taste their wines. The tasting will feature a broad array of wines made by women winemakers here in Santa Barbara County, including those from A Tribute to Grace, Buttonwood Farm, Cambria, Carhartt, Casa Dumetz, Cebada Vineyard, Cold Heaven, Fiddlehead, Foley, Harrison-Clarke, Kitá, La Montagne, Lucas & Lewellen, Nagy, Rancho Sisquoc, Rideau, Riverbench, William-James Cellars and more in a casual and convivial environment. “Of the more than 3400 wineries in California, approximately 10% have a woman as their lead winemaker”, notes Clarissa Nagy of Riverbench and her own Nagy wines. “We believe the percentage here in Santa Barbara County to be much higher, and we also believe that women supporting our winemaking efforts in the office, the market, the cellar and the vineyard are just as important to the success of our region. Let’s all stand up and be counted on March 28th!”
The public is invited to the tasting, which will be held from 6:00pm at Casa Dumetz
