S.Y. Kitchen located in the heart of Santa Ynez, proudly introduces Flight Night, a special evening with renowned local winemaker Michael Zinke on Monday, December 14. Michael Zinke will be pouring a flight of his wines that include current releases of Zinke Viognier, the “Unreleased” Grenache, Central Coast Syrah and a special pour of Thompson Vineyard Syrah. Flight Night will be held in The Courtyard, the cozy outdoor lounge area. Served with the wines will be small bites and savory pizzas by Chef Luca Crestanelli for an evening of tasting, enjoyment and discovery. Glasses and bottles of these wines will also be available for purchase to those dining in the restaurant.
The Central Coast has some of the most unique and rich growing conditions of anywhere in the world, and for Michael Zinke it is the perfect place to pursue his passion of creating Central Coast versions of Rhone Varietals.
While influenced by tradition, Zinke Wines is paving their own path in the vineyard and the cellar in pursuit of the perfect Rhone. Using optimally ripe, hand sorted fruit sourced from the Central Coast combined with small lot fermentations, stem inclusion, co-ferments, and the proper formula of oak and time, all come together to embody Zinke wines. Michael Zinke will be present throughout the night to meet guests and discuss his wines.
The tasting will commence at 5:30 in The Courtyard at S.Y. Kitchen. The price is $20 per guest, all inclusive. For those wanting to remain for dinner after the tasting, reservations may be made by calling 805.691.9794.
