S.Y. Kitchen presents an exclusive wine-tasting dinner of Chef Luca Crestanelli’s Northern Italian cuisine paired with the exceptional wines of Piedmont, showcasing a vertical tasting of Giuseppe Rinaldi’s rare and older Barolo.
Other wines poured will be a Barbera d’Alba from Cascina Chicco, a sustainable winery in Piedmont making a sophisticated, yet open Barbera with values of the more youthful Piemontese wines. Also included is a Moscato d’Asti from another renowned Piemontese winery, Braida di Giacomo Bologna to be served with dessert by Pastry Chef Francesco Crestanelli. This typically aromatic and distinctive wine demonstrates the region’s diversity; producing the austere and elegant Nebbiolo beside the soft and sweet Moscato.
Chef Crestanelli has crafted a menu using Balik Farm smoked salmon from Switzerland¸ Italian white and black truffles, stuffed squab and elaborate pastry to pair with of the Piemontese wines in both traditional and less usual presentations with striking results.
