- Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe
The Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Café, located at 2879 Grand Ave, Los Olivos, is presenting an “Anchors Aweigh” winemaker pairing dinner that will BLOW you AWAY! Reserve your boarding tickets now for Thursday, February 11 starting at 6PM, and join Dick Doré, Bill Wathen, and the ladies who make it Foxen for an epic culinary journey. Together, everyone will be expertly captained through five courses paired with incredible wines from the Foxen Vineyard & Winery. Café Chef Chris Joslyn will work his culinary magic for an evening you won’t soon forget, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit VeggieRescue organization.
Founded by Dick Doré and Bill Wathen in 1985, the Foxen Vineyard and Winery prides itself on “small production, sustainably-farmed, vineyard-focused wines using a straightforward and minimalist approach to winemaking.” The Winery is named in memory Dick’s great-great grandfather William Benjamin Foxen, who gave up the life of an English sea captain to purchase the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in 1837. Captain Foxen used the anchor logo as his ranch cattle brand, and it has become the trademark of the Winery. Over 175 years later, Rancho Tinaquaic, now 2,000 acres, remains in family hands producing unique and distinctive wines.
The five course pairing dinner is $95 (plus tax & gratuity). There is limited seating and reservations are necessary to participate. Due to the elaborate preparation of each dish and extensive orchestration of the event, there are no substitutions for any course (vegetarian option available at time of booking).
