Landscape Weekend Workshop

Start Date:
September 21, 2018 @ 6:00 pm
End Date:
September 21, 2018 @ 8:30 pm
Gypsy Studios
CA United States

Are you looking to jump-start, develop or expand your landscape painting abilities? Learn how landscape artists layout their compositions, simplify what the eye sees, use a variety of brushes and stroke to communicate different foliage, the importance of shade, color, and tint in expressing planes and so much more. Don’t worry if none of that verbiage makes sense to you–it will after the workshop! We’ll break it down to the very basics.

Join us for a weekend dedicated fully to the artistry that goes into developing beautiful landscape paintings from start to finish!

Listed below are the supplies required for the weekend (available online, in stores, or through us!)

Please feel free to email or call us on any questions about supplies, we know art supplies can be overwhelming!

Must Haves Supplies:
Acrylic Paint- We recommend a set of Liquitex Basics for those just learning to use acrylics, or Heavy Body Professional acrylics for those who have experience with the medium.

Canvas- 2 canvases one 12×16 and one 8×10(these can be boards, panels, or stretched canvas).

Palette- Paper palette pad, paper plates or sta-wet palettes will all work

Suggested Supplies (Available for loan):
Paint Brushes- We have plenty at the studio you may borrow, however we recommend a basic set of your own, as it is always better to learn with your own tools.

Palette knife- recommended but not necessary

Water Jar with lid- Mason Jars or Talenti Gelato jars work great!

Water spray bottle- for the plein air session (to keep paints from drying out)

Easel- Table top easels or standing easels, depending how you prefer to work, we have both styles available for loan or purchase
